Fall Goals

What are your goals for fall? Part of the September link up with The B Bar!

This month I’m participating in the The B Bar’s September linkup! The questions was, “What are your goals for fall?” which I’m excited about because this is something that has been on my mind recently.

These past few weeks I’ve been really dedicated to restructuring my blog to make it how I had wanted originally. I started realizing that I’d have to put more time and effort into this if I wanted tangible results. So now I’ve come back with a fresh perspective, and a better idea for what my fall goals will be.

This is primarily a beauty and lifestyle blog, but this is also a personal goal. Too much I’ve sat on the sidelines, being content with watching other people do what they wanted to do. And that was always okay with me, because I was fine where I was. But the problem lies in the fact that I’m not truly experiencing life, and the only way to get more experience is to do something. Even if it doesn’t seem to relate to my blog, having these experiences can give me something to draw creativity from, even in if it doesn’t seem like it at first.

I would like to say I’m well on my way to contributing to being more adventurous in my life. This past weekend I attended my first concert, both with friends and new people. It’s a start!

Comfortable is my style, both in what I wear and how I live. My comfort zone is small, and that’s not really a good thing because I seldom drift away from it. However I think it’ll be fun to start trying out new things with my look. I’ve already bleached my hair, which has forced me to try new things to match it, but now I’m looking to even further that with the type of clothes I wear and how I present myself.

I know I come off quiet sometimes or even sometimes too loud (I tend to get super weird around cute people). But I want to change what people’s first impression of me from “oh, she’s so quiet” to “wow, she looks confident. I want to be her friend.”

If you didn’t know, I don’t go to school anymore. I don’t mean that in “oh yeah, I already graduated college and I’m jobless,” I mean that as in “I’ve only done one semester of community college, and I’m that person that still hangs out with her old high school friends because she hasn’t made new ones.”

Yeah, not fun. Not to mention my friends are going to school, so they are meeting new people and making new memories. It can make a girl like me feel very behind and lost very quickly. BUT, I am hoping that as I try to be more adventurous, I’ll also meet new people, even if we don’t become best friends.

I’m also trying to engage more on social media, both on my personal and blog accounts. To promote my blog, this is crucial. But it’s also a small step to make myself more comfortable with interaction without actually having to be physically present so you can see the sweat that my clothes are drenched in.

Yeah, it’s not a pretty picture.

To end out, a miniature wish list. Going through my makeup in the move, I’ve realized how many eyeliners I have, and how many I don’t use. They’re simply old and dried up since it’s probably been years of un-use (is that a word? It looks really weird). I have a few that work, but they don’t work necessarily well, so I’m on the lookout for a new liquid liner so I can finally throw all my old ones away!

But also shoes. Just recently I’m noticing how much shoes can impact an outfit, and since all through high school I was convinced my worn out gray Converse matched absolutely everything, I didn’t really invest much into shoes. I think this goes great with my other goal of wanting to experiment with new looks, because this gives me an opportunity to try something new and a little out of my comfort zone.

I’m looking for casual yet cute shoes rather than formal heels just because I think I’ll get more wear out of them. It’s not often I’ll go somewhere formal, and y’know, one step at a time. Don’t want to start out too fast otherwise I know I’ll get burnt out before fall is even over!

This year has gone by so fast, it’s surreal. I keep thinking that it’s still the middle of summer, and I’ve got 6 months left to go. With that being said, I feel pretty energized when it comes to my fall goals, because I think they are definitely realistic and hopefully by writing them down and putting it out there will hold me more accountable for them.

Do you have any fall goals?

Have fun,
