One of the good habits I started in 2017 that I’m bringing with me into 2018 is keeping monthly lists of products I plan to use up within the month. I don’t always meet those goals, but at the very least, I’ve dedicated myself to using that product more often, so I can either finish it sooner or realize how much I liked it.
Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser – I actually meant to finish this in January, but when I got towards the last quarter left, I started using the next cleanser in my rotation because I didn’t want to finish it! Though it started out on rocky footing, I’ve been thoroughly enjoying it. While it doesn’t take off makeup very well, it’s perfect to use as a second cleanse, or cleansing when I’m not actually wearing makeup. While I’m moving on to try other cleansers, I can see why people hoard backups of this, and it’s definitely a good, staple cleanser to have on hand.
Honest Beauty Gel Cleanser – Usually I try not to add more than one item per category because I don’t want to rush myself through using a billion cleansers, moisturizers, etc. just to say I finished them. However, I was surprised how fast I was able to get through the first half of my Honest Beauty Gel Cleanser, which means I don’t think it’ll last much longer than February. While I’m somewhat stunned that the 4 oz. bottle isn’t lasting me longer, the soapy consistency and unpleasant smell makes me kind of glad to be done with it.
Frank Body Everyday Face Moisturizer – Frank Body should absolutely applaud itself for its website and the truly amazing copywriting, because I probably wouldn’t have bought anything otherwise.
This is another product I thought would last me longer. The tube is 2.71 oz. which is a whole ounce more than most moisturizers, but for some reason I feel like I’m going through it like crazy compared to other moisturizers I’ve tried. While a little doesn’t go a long way, neither do you need a lot to cover your face.
L’Oreal Infallible Super Slim Eyeliner – I’ve probably had this for too long, but as long as it still holds product, I use it. For the last several months, I’ve been skipping the eyeliner in favor of just eyeshadow and mascara. As I sort through my collection, I’m realizing that for me, having more than one eyeliner on hand is probably too much for how often I use them. And so, it’s finally time to start using my liners up.
bareMinerals Prime Time Eyelid Primer – Oh my gaaad, this sample size is lasting for-freaking-ever, especially considering I use more than needed for my eyes. Granted, I don’t go out every single day, but color me impressed (and slightly annoyed) that this has lasted so long. I’m not sure about the full size, but this mini sample squeezes out a bit too much each application. The formula is nude, water-y (at least compared to UD’s Primer Potion), and dries down matte. Works beautifully on keeping my eyeshadow crease free and applying vividly, but I’m not sure I really need eyelid primer.
Sorme Brow Powder – I’ve literally had this brow powder for years, in fact, it was my first and only brow powder purchase, bought in some random beauty shop that I forced my dad into after school to get me some brows. It’s on its last legs now, and while I briefly entertained the idea of just sticking to pencil and pomade, I literally use this every time I put on my eyebrows, and I don’t think I can go without some sort of powder. Time to upgrade!
Just as I try not to add to many products in one category to finish, I try not to go overboard with products I want to finish unless they’re samples or I know I’m going to finish it in a few uses. What are some things you’d like to finish in February?
