It’s October and that means it’s my birthday month! I’m really excited but also nervous because there’s just a lot going on this month, so I might miss a post or two. But let’s get on to my September favorites!
There’s not a lot this month because I was mainly focused on finishing samples and finally getting around to throwing out some long overdue makeup, but I hope you enjoy nevertheless.
Lush Mint Julips Lip Scrub
I was right to think that this was going to become a fast favorite of mine. Since I first hauled it, I’m still loving it. It smells absolutely amazing, makes my lips feel smooth and hydrated without adding a layer of balm over it, and a little goes a long way. Which is great, because when I first saw it, even though I knew I wanted to try it out, I was nervous about the small pot not lasting me very long. I mean, $11 isn’t the cheapest for a tiny lip scrub. However, I’ve barely made a dent!
And it’s not as messy as you might think. Because you only need the bare minimum, there’s not a big mess to clean up after. Granted, you should still be over the case just in case, but I thought it would be much worse given scrubs in general.
Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream with Sunscreen
If you guys have read my skincare routine with all Kiehl’s products, you’ll know that this was my favorite of the bunch. It was rich without being greasy, made my skin feel ultra-smooth and nourished for the day. It left no white cast and didn’t have a heavy sunscreen smell. Although the SPF rating wasn’t the best, it’s nothing that can’t be solved with an extra layer of sunscreen.
The Good Place
Part of me hates watching Netflix originals, because they’re all new and only have one season up, so it takes a while for the next season to arrive. I’m still waiting on the next Grace and Frankie season!
However, I can’t help myself when something with an interesting summary pops up. Basically, the main character dies and is now in The Good Place. I wish I could say more about it, but there are a few plot twists that I really don’t want to give away. Either way, I found it much more interesting than it sounds. Episodes are only 20 minutes long, and even though the idea is that they’re all dead and in The Good Place, it’s light and entertaining.
I have been binging Violette’s YouTube channel for the past week. Her French accent is so soothing, and almost all her videos are under 5 minutes. It is a beauty channel, but not like your average beauty guru. She really does add the French element to it, doing her makeup quickly and with her fingers, usually in a public place or even sometimes in the car (something I wish I could do). It’s cool if you live in New York, as a lot of her places are cafes and whatnot in New York.
She’s definitely inspired me to be more expressive with makeup, and potentially try out some different colors and add some glitter to my arsenal. But she also has very chill, laid back looks. I would highly recommend checking out her channel; I love the vibes and the simplicity of everything, and again, almost every video is less than 5 minutes, so they’re really easy to watch.
What have you been loving through September? What’s something you’re looking forward to most in October?
